Anjali pairs up with Vikram in Karikalan

The actress will play a warrior in the actor’s period film, Karikalan,We’d informed you first that Vikram’s Karikalan will have three lead heroines. While Zareen Khan was the first one to be roped in and Mithra Kurien of Kaavalan fame is rumoured to be another one, the latest one to join the bevy of beauties is Anjali of Angadi Theru and Engaeyum Eppothum fame. Anjali, who’s currently shooting with Vimal for Masala Cafe, says, “Kannan, who’d seen me in Engaeyum Eppothum, thought I’d fit the bill for a bold girl in his film. After doing a photoshoot and look test, he decided to rope me in. I have finished trying out the costumes. My look for the film has been finalized too. We will begin shooting from the first week of December in Hyderabad.”
Though Anjali isn’t willing to reveal much about her character, we managed to get her talking. “I play a leader to a set of faithful people. The role requires me to fight using some of the techniques that are almost forgotten today. Kannan has insisted that I start getting trained in sword-fighting and horse riding,” she informs.
Anjali is excited about sharing screen space with Vikram, who plays a warrior king in this. “I’ve had the chance to come in the same frame as Ajith (in Mankatha), and now, I will be paired up with Vikram in this film. He’s a great performer and I’m looking forward to be working with him. I pray I match up to him on screen,” she says.
