Vikram finally settles for Pitha!
Vikram will soon complete his next film, directed by Vijay of Madrasapattinam fame. The movie has two hot heroines — Anushka and Amala Paul. It’s based on Sean Penn’s Hollywood hit I Am Sam. Amala plays Chiyaan’s wife in the flashback episodes while Anushka, who portrays the lawyer who helps him, shares screen space with the Raavanan star in the latter half.
Both the actor and director were keen on the title Deiva Maghan, which was the title of thespian Sivaji Ganesan’s yesteryear super hit. At the time, the film was produced under his home banner Sivaji Films and Vijay tried his utmost to buy the rights from them. Sources said that the late actor’s sons - producers Prabhu and Ram Kumar, were unwilling to part with it because they were sentimentally attached to the title. Now, reliable sources tell us that finally the makers of Vikram’s film have had to settle for a new title, Pitha (Father).
